Wildblood + Queenie’s June Gscene Wonders

We’re feeling the love this June as we soundtrack our month of fun in the sun. Yep there’s a load to wiggle to as we delve deep into the delights of the latest house, disco and electronica.

Keeping the grooves on the downlow this month are the dizzyingly beautiful Russian groove of Lubish’s Clouds on Erizados, the melodies of DC Salas’s The Unspoken on Biologic Records and the warm, low slung but bass heavy class of fabric 94: Steffi on fabric Records.

Compilations ensuring this is a month of cork popping include the delights of Kittball Konspiracy Vol.14 on Kittball Records and Get Physical’s two June jumpers, Get Physical presents Ibiza 2017 compiled & mixed by Ben Hoo and the seminal 15 Years of Get Physical. Olivia John would be proud.

As for our must wiggle wonders? Grab yourself a slice of heaven courtesy of this bunch and life will be forever bright. Yep with the iconic 10cotexas Discotexas 10 Year Anniversary Compilation on, you guessed it, Discotexas, MacStanton’s spacy disco adventure LOdyssee on So French Records, Roosevelt’s Roosevelt Remixed 1&2 on Greco-Roman/ City Slang or Billy Palmier’s charming disco wonder Escape From Freedom on Citywurl Records and your boogie can only get better. Enjoy.

We’re feeling fabulously frisky this festival month with a soundtrack strictly celebratory this May as we spring the good stuff on you. Just add these beauties to your life and the sun is guaranteed to shine. Be it the enchanting Afro and minimal house of South African wonders C-Major’s The Link on Atal Music, the adventure inspiring Shanghai by College on Invada Records, or the soulful hip hop of Liz Aku’s Ankhor on Sonar Kollektiv, life will always sound better with them onboard.

Add some deft dancefloor grooves from Knee Deep In Sounds Miami 2017 sampler, Leftroom’s cheeky The Extended Family Miami Edition, Michael Mayer’s quirky cute DJ Kicks compilation on !K7 and the ode to our old raving days that is Luke Vibert Presents UK Garave Vol.1 on Hypercolour and you have beats worth bouncing to.

Especially if you mix in our albums of the month. Mydonna is everything you could want from a groove, subtle yet scorching, deep yet accessible, and yeah, funky as hell. Perfect distraction: Hercules and Love Affair’s Fader

So this just hit me. And now I’m grinning. The promise of those late summer nights and dirty early mornings is back as Fader teases us with the prospect of another longplayer from Hercules & Love Affair. So yeah I am loving what the thought of Butler and Co is doing to me. But then when some of my life’s finer moments have been soundtracked by these NYC knights in shining electronic armour, why wouldn’t I be excited.

If this industrial beat infused taster Fader isn’t enough to wet your herculean appetite for the grimer side of 80s pop then you’d best check your pulse. It’s time for the return of Hercules and Love Affair.  A musical interpretation of intense sub-dom sexual roleplay anyone?
