Wildblood + Queenie’s September Scorchers

So as we head towards a proud summer finale of hands in the air and sing-a-long anthems, the words of which we never quite got the hang of – “oh jambali” comes to mind, it seems only right that we turn up the temperature one last time with some delicious sunshine soundtracks.

First up is one of must-hit websites of the year House Of Disco and their spanking new compilation delivered by label mates Disko cunningly called House Of Disko. Twelve tracks of house and disco that skip delightfully across the genre spectrum to deliver a session you’ll want to succumb to. thehouseofdisco.com. Another album playing with the spectrums of all things electronic is the wonderful Freedom Street by Chris Coco on Melodica. The influences are chilled but the result is so much more. A melodic moment to treasure.

Other wonders tickling our bass bins this month include the house music with personality that is Electro Funkin Disco Breakin Vol.1 Seven Years of Heavy Disco and MoHifi, the class house of Ralf Gum’s Never Leaves You on GOGO Music and the pure class of Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band’s The Secret Life Of Us on Z Records. Never have so many DJ’s owed one producer so many golden dancefloor moments.

And Septembers ‘blimey missus how good?’ longplayers? First up is the excellent Suol Records Chopstick and Johnjon mix for Brighton’s own Motel, a Berlin beauty that is making life in Brighton beautiful. soundcloud.com/motelmusic Then we have the class act that is Fur Coat’s Mind Over Matter on Crosstown Rebels, a true taste of the future of house music and finally the excellence of Mixology: Sam Records Extended Play on Harmless. Its classic disco but not as we know it, remixed and reedited with a loving touch to produce contemporary beats of the exquisite kind. Be prepared to fall head of heels in love with Sam. Enjoy.
