Wildblood and Queenie’s September Wonders

So here we go, the recovery position. As the season draws to a close and we all hope for some glorious hazy last days of summer nothing soothes the soul or refreshes the spirit like a bloody good tune. And we have the ones you need.

First up go immerse yourself in the beat adventure that is ‘FabricLive 59: Four Tet’ on Fabric Records. There’s nowt here you’ll be familiar with and there lies its strength. Plenty of wows of wonder as you acquaint yourself with the sound workings of Four Tet’s mind. If only all producers were hard wired this way. We’re loving the deepness of Marc Antona’s ‘Rules of Madness’ on Dissonant as he delivers some seriously engaging electronica, warping the rules of dance music to great effect.

Also worth a peek is the scratchy downtempo beats of Somepling’s ‘Cry Above’ on Cold Busted, the essential summer reminder that is The Rurals Feat Ladybird ‘Ocean’ on Peng Records and Sarah Fonteyne’s ‘Debut’ on Aesthetic sounds – a lesson in all that is good about nujazz and soul.

As for this September’s most sought after we’ve fallen for the following threesome. First up we adore the alfresco celebration that is ‘Beachclubbing’ on Defected. Lets face it we all love a bit of action in the open air and whether your Havaianas are on or off this will ensure your alfresco partying is scorchio. ‘Summer Waves Vol.1’ on Stardust Records has had us hooked since it first washed into our lives in August providing twisted disco with a suntan. Just how we like it. And finally there’s the pure magic of ‘Drop Music present House Bound’. Upfront, unbelievably good and right proper house. If you jack, you’ll jack your arse off to this. Enjoy.
